Default 2008 Election - Republican or Democrat

So which way do you think the upcoming election is going to go?

As per your wording, I voted as I think it will go... that may not necessarily be the way I would like for it to go.

I'm still going the Ron Paul route. I know there's a snowball's chance in hell he'll win, but at least I get the satisfaction of voting for the person I have supported the entire time.

Republican. Not only because I am one, but because Obama is going to break down and McCain is going to win. Polls are already showing him ahead.

I want McCain/Palin, but I will say it will be very close. It will be hard to fight the sheer numbers that will turn out just to vote a man into office because he is (partially) black. I don't mean that as a racist comment, but let's be honest; how many Obama supporters are really going to vote for him because of his policies and accomplishments? Not many...a large portion of this election is all about race, and that is very sad.

Default Republican.

Obama's lack of experience and knowledge is becoming more and more evident as time passes.

Plus, with Palin on McCain's ticket the conservative vote is re-energized. The Republicans that didn't believe in McCain from the start will vote for him because Palin has joined in.

The reason why so many R seats were lost in '06 was because Republicans stayed home instead of voting; but I don't think that will be the case this year.

OBAMA will win by sheer default.

We have no REAL candidates.

Come on... John McCain and Sarah Palin? Surely there is SOMEBODY within the Republican party that would have wooed some younger voters to the polls. Poor OLD John is just an extension of current thinking (which certainly hasn't played well with public opinion). Right or wrong, he just doesn't have the stuff to get elected.

The Palin pick "late in the game" didn't offer any real shot in the arm either. Nothing against her, but I think it was just a ploy to make the R party appear more like they were hip enough to pick a female candidate that wasn't a Washington insider. Too little and too late.

The crappy Obama / Biden ticket offers no better choice unless you want to further the move toward Socialism in this country. (which many apparently do) The names Pelosi, Reid, Jackson, Ayers, Dorn, and Wright should be enough to scare ANYBODY with a functioning brain to run away from them... but we the uneducated masses will deliver them to office come Nov 4.

It's SAD but you can count on it.

My theory? The Republicans are throwing this election in order to gain seats in the mid term elections in 2010 and regain their majority rule. It's the only opportunity they have to do so at this point. What the heck... it just might work.

After looking at the acceptable write-in candidates and not finding RP on there, I'm going to be voting for Bob Barr I guess. I agree with the majority of his stances, much more so than Obama and McCain. He covers most of the major stuff for me.
